Payment Policies

We require a 24-hour cancellation notice but we understand that emergencies happen. Please contact us as early as possible to reschedule. There is no charge for the first no-show. Thereafter, you will be charged for the missed appointment in full. Insurance will not cover this cost.

We accept cash, check, credit card, or Paypal either in advance or at the time of treatment. Payment is required in full at the time of treatment.

We are in-network with Aetna, Cigna, Optum, United and VA Community Care. Not all plans are covered. Please contact your insurance company and check on eligibility prior to your appointment. Some insurance companies will accept receipts from out-of-network providers and will reimburse the patient minus the co-pay. It is worth making a call to find out. We will provide a receipt to you for payment in full that you may submit to your insurance company for reimbursement. In other cases, such as car accidents or worker's compensation, we will submit paperwork on your behalf.

You are responsible for your co-pay and the balance that your insurance does not cover.

Please check with your insurance carrier to find out if your plan includes acupuncture, how many visits are allowed and whether out-of-network providers are accepted.

For plans such as Martin's Point and MaineCare, we will accept full payment, and provide you with a receipt that you may submit to your insurance provider for reimbursement.

Medicare Part A covers low back pain (ICD-10 code M54.50) under the supervision of a physician. I do not practice under the supervision of a physician, so can not accept your Medicare insurance.

Medicare Advantage Plans do allow acupuncture to be rendered and billed by Licensed Acupuncturists. Please check with your insurance provider to determine which Medicare plan you have before scheduling an appointment.
